Should I rent or buy the supplies?

In general a party or event is usually only a one-day festivity. Since most parties only last one day it is usually a good idea to rent the party supplies. Renting your party supplies is much cheaper than actually purchasing them. There are some things to consider when you think about renting or purchasing your party supplies. Some questions to answer are if there is a specific theme you are having at your party? How often are you going to have the same party? And will future parties be the same theme or different? If you are having a general party or get together and plan on hosting it frequently than it is wiser to purchase the party supplies so you can use it more than once. However if you are having a specific themed party like a superhero party then it probably won't be a wise decision to purchase all your party supplies in that theme since the probability of having the same party is vary rare. However if you are having an event that will take place every year, then it might be a good idea to purchase your supplies so you can use them again for that same event.

Your search for a rental company should begin from your local area. Finding a company that services your local area is both convenient and usually cheaper. Make sure to do research about the company you rent from, don't just go with the cheapest company. Don't forget the saying "You get what you pay for". Keep in mind you only get one chance at having your party and making an impression, you want to make sure the company you rent from will be at your event on time and with everything needed to make your event an unforgettable one.

Where should I hold my party?

Having the perfect location is one of the most important aspects of any party or event. First things first, you must consider the number of people being invited and the number of people that will be attending. The last thing you want to do is over-invite people or have a location that is too big. The next thing to consider is what type of party it will be. Is it going to be private, public, casual, formal, for children, or for adults? Knowing all of these things will allow you to better access the location or atmosphere of the party, and the activates that will keep your guests busy. If you are having a private party then the best locations to hold your event is either at your residence, a private restaurant or hall, or at any other private venue location. However, if you are having a public party where anyone is invited than you can simply have your party out in the open at any suitable location that is permissible. Having a party specifically for children would be best hosted at an indoor family entertainment center where they can have a variety of fun games and activities to choose from. Having a party specifically for adults, however, would be best suited at a nightclub, lounge or bar.

Inviting guests

There are tons of ways to invite guests to your party or event. The most successful way to go about this is to use different methods. For most people who are computer savvy or who are apart of the computer generation inviting guests is as simple as a click of a button through most social utility sites. Such sites include Facebook, Myspace and Twitter. You can create an event and invite people through your friend list or by using their email address. Other ways to go about inviting guests would be through postcards, letters, or any other print sources like magazines or newspapers. You can also use radio or television networks to get more visibility out to the public about your event. Keep in mind, the more sources you use to make your event known to the public the more people will possibly attend. Using connections and different networks is also a key way to gain participants. The more people you know that are willing to pass along the information the more likely your events information will be wide spread amongst people.

DJ or live musicians?

The music is usually what determines if the party will be live and active or if it will be dull and slow. It is very important to take time to interview and consult every potential musician or DJ that will be servicing your party or event. Some things to consider when making this decision are what type of guests you will be having, are they elders or are they youths? The age of guests will determine which type of music to play, fast or slow. Also if there is a specific musical style or origin the guests are accustomed to such as salsa or Greek music then the list of potential musicians will be cut down. If you feel your party will be better with a variety of musical styles than it might be best to go with a DJ that can play any song or artist you like. With musicians they are usually limited to the songs they know or are accustomed to singing. However, if you or your party guests have a favorite musical group than it might be best to see if you can get that musical group servicing your party. Another important aspect for comparing these two are the costs involved with each. Live musicians are usually more expensive than DJ's. Another thing you can do is make a list of all the songs or artists you would like played at your party or event and present that list to the potential musicians or DJ's and see if they can play them. Getting reviews from previous customers and watching example videos of previous events serviced are other good ways to compare the two.

Clown service and live characters

If you will be having a lot of kids at your party or event and need something extra to keep them entertained than clowns or live characters are perfect to get the job done. Clowns are perfect for smaller children to toddlers that will enjoy their funny antics and balloon characters. Live characters should be considered when the party is of a character theme or if the person the party is for has a favorite character. Live characters can liven up the party and bring excitement to young faces. For older age groups it is best to go with comedians or magicians rather than live characters and clowns.

Catering and its benefits

Having your food catered to you by a company is one of the most stress relieving ways to provide food and beverages to your guests. If you are overwhelmed with the party planning, and don't have time to consider which foods to have, how much to have, shopping or cooking then you should definitely consider having it catered. The benefits of having your food catered include having a variety of foods to choose from, not having to worry about preparing them or shopping for food, and not having to worry about servicing them during the party. Usually catering is most beneficial for larger parties or events rather than small house parties, but if you have the means to do so than its something definitely to consider.

Table and chair rentals

Need tables and chairs for your party or event? Consider renting them if you are holding the party at your home, park, or anywhere in need of a seating arrangement. Usually most inflatable or party rental companies will offer table and chair rentals to go along with their inflatable products. However you need to consider which type of party you are holding, is it a formal ceremony or a backyard birthday party? For formal ceremonies or celebrations it is better to go with a company that specifically concentrates on table, chair and silverware rentals. This type of company has more designs and styles to choose from than would an inflatable rental company.
